What are you mounting it in ? Generally the airplane manufacturer offers a mount for turbo prop planes. For example I believe CARF offers a mount and exhaust pipes for their Tucano.

If it's a scratch build or a modification you'll probably need to design your own. I converted a Phoenix Tucano from 60cc gas to K45 TP and I needed to design my own mount.

Hi thats the problem- I am converting a Frankel T34 to a T34 C model so its just a flat firewall so its quite a distance Probably will end up making one out of 3/8th inch ply-The torque will be the problem. Scott

This motor required both a Front mount and a side support…similar to the photo of my turbo Raven, pretty your install is possible, but I never own a frankel so I can’t say….

But, I would run and extension from the firewall to support both the front mount and the side mount…..maybe a metal piece….

As I mentioned, I made a mount for the K45TP I installed in my 60cc Phoenix Tucano. It had a firewall for a gas engine similar to what you describe except there wasn't enough room between the firewall and the front of the cowl to fit the K45TP. I removed the firewall and slid the mount between the engine box sides. This is a rendering of the mount.

Default Kt 60tp

I just finished up a conversion on a Comp Arf Siai from gasser to TP. KT60 installed. Used CF to reinforce the firewall. constructed a mount from 1/4" ply and then fabricated aluminum reinforcements.

Wfield0455 That looks like a great solution. It would be good if something like this was available to buy.

Default K30tp mount

Have you made up a mount for the k30tp? I'd like to mount one in a Legacy Bushmaster. Can't seem to find any mounting kits. You could probably make some money selling these kits.

This reply is for the person who made up the k45to plywood mount

Thank you
Dan Sears
