The 62 is a ripping *****, I like to run them at 12k plus in the air. I think a lot of folks have been persuaded to use the lower end of the performance range with the smaller Saitos, being convinced that they will float valves above 11K or some such nonsensical rhetoric. Keep in mind however, mine are in warbirds.

Life Things: I know about Life Things. I should have posted this a month ago. it took 7 months of waiting for my appointment! but I finely saw a 2nd Eye surgeon. he didn't want to say if something is wrong with my eyes because, he found I have cataracts. yes-yes I saw the first surgeon twice (7 months apart), and she didn't check for cataracts, nice haa? (I want my Co-pays back from her) she wanted me to come back a 3rd time,,, no-p, this 2nd surgeon told me to get the cataracts fixed and he will see me again. I now have an appointment in Jun to see the cataract surgeon. this doctor is an Harvard graduate, and he is sopped to be the best. we will see (pun there), hopefully the cataracts are the only problem.

Your screws for the PSP test stand were just sent at the post office. The heads of them were turned down to .320 ". I did test a couple in mine. The heads stick up about .030" above the mounting bars. I think the original PSP screws were faced off a bit to be flush. I didn't notice that until I tested them but they will function fine. When I made a batch I wrote a very simple program to turn them down in the CNC Lathe during my lunch break. The machine kicked out 20 screws in about 15 minutes. If I would have had more time, I would have had it chamfer the top edge. Instead to do it fast I just touched them with a file while they were still in the collet. I hope they work good for you guys.

Jim, I hope it's just cataract. If it is your going to be amazed at the improvement in your vision. I know several people that had them removed, they still needed glasses of course, but they were super happy with the results.
Back to the Shoestring, a 115 will not severely overpower it like one may think. Many run OS 91 FX's in that plane. The first one I ever saw was at a flyin, had a 91 FX with a mousse can muffler on it, and I went goo goo over it. The guy saw I was enthralled and invited me out to the flight line to watch him fly it. He was a really good flyer, I had seen him fly before, and he had gone through just about every aerobatic maneuver when I asked, "How does it knife edge?". Then those infamous words left his mouth, "Oh yeah, watch this!". He came out of the knife edge inverted, gave it a heavy dose of up elevator and SPLAT, instantly re-kitted it in the middle of the runway! I felt terrible for asking about knife edging it and apologized for distracting him. He promptly replied, "Did you build the plane? Were you on the pit crew, or were you flying it?". All I could say was, "Well, no". "Then you did nothing wrong, right?", he said. Still I felt about three feet tall. He had flown that plane for 15 some odd years without incident.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get close to the performance he had with his setup. Perhaps similar to a Midget Mustang/115 like "Rudolf Hart's". Maybe he'll see this post and rejoin the group.
